The first trailer is here

Late last year we all sat on the edge of our seats awaiting news on the next instalment of the James Bond legacy, as director Sam Mendes revealed his cast, title, and plot details for Bond 24. Now the first ever Spectre trailer is here and we couldn't be more excited. Here it is in all its 007 glory.

And the first international TV trailer...

Who's in it?

While Christoph Waltz, Andrew Scott, Lea Seydoux, Monica Bellucci, and Dave Bautista (Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy) were all announced as new cast members late last year, now there are more names added to the line-up. This time, it's Mexican actress Stephanie Sigman, who's so far stayed under the Hollywood radar.

They join returning cast members, Craig, Ben Whishaw (Q), Rory Kinnear (Tanner), Ralph Fiennes (M), and Naomie Harris (Moneypenny).

There's a new Bond woman in town

At 50, Monica Bellucci is the oldest Bond girl to be cast to date, and we couldn't be happier, because frankly it's about time Bond had a lady to match his own wealth of experience. And when Bellucci was asked by The Guardian if she takes offence at the term Bond girl. Bellucci had the best response...

'I can’t say I’m a Bond girl because I’m too mature to be a Bond girl. I say Bond lady; Bond woman. But I’m proud to be a Bond lady, because actually, Bond is the most amazing man. You know why?' she asked. 'Because he doesn’t exist.'

What does it mean?

SPECTRE – for the uninitiated, is an acronym for Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion and is run by super villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld, who has been dangling 007 over shark tanks since the early 1960s.

Who's singing the theme tune?

After months of speculation, Sam Smith has finally confirmed that he'll be singing the theme for upcoming James Bond film. The song is called Writing's on the Wall, and the singer said on Twitter it is 'one of the highlights of [his] career'. And it's no wonder, it's the first Bond song to bag a number one spot.

The rumour mill had gone into overdrive over this Bond theme, with Ed Sheeran and Ellie Goulding also thought to be in the running (especially after Ellie Goulding was spotted leaving the iconic Abbey Road studios).

That's a wrap!

If that wasn't enough to lead you down the garden path, the film's director Sam Mendes said we wouldn't have to wait long to hear the track.

Speaking to the BBC, he said: 'The song's been recorded and it's fantastic and I'm very excited about it.' Adding: 'You won't have to wait long.'

Come on Sam, we can't wait any longer.

When can I actually sit in a cinema and watch it?

The World Premiere for SPECTRE will take place in London on Monday, October 26, 2015 and for the first time ever, the film will open on the same night at cinemas across the UK and Ireland, giving audiences the opportunity to be the first in the world to see the hugely-anticipated 24th film in the James Bond franchise. Plus, it's set to be the longest Bond yet, with a rumoured running time of well over two and a half hours. More Bond? Oh yes please.

Bond won't be drinking his usual martini

I know, it rocked our world too when Bond sipped on a Heineken in Skyfall, so we're slightly relieved that he's returning to form. But rather than the classic martini, he's gunning for a dirty martini, complete with vodka, dry vermouth, a muddled Sicilian green olive and a good old measure of the olive's brine.

We want more...

In the meantime, console yourself with the fact you can snap up Lea Seydoux's gorgeous silk green dress as pictured in the film.

The gown costs £225, which doesn't seem like a lot for looking like a Bond girl. You can buy it from Ghost here.

Or you can also watch this behind-the-scenes footage, which looks bloody glorious. See for yourself...

SPECTRE will be released on 6 November 2015.
