Jennifer Aniston speaks out about not wanting children

Jennifer Aniston has finally made her feelings clear on those constant ‘Why no kids?’ questions she’s asked – and they are amazing.

‘I don’t like [the pressure] that people put on me, on women—that you’ve failed yourself as a female because you haven’t procreated,’ she told US magazine Allure. ‘I don’t think it’s fair. You may not have a child come out of your vagina, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t mothering—dogs, friends, friends’ children,' explains Aniston. 

'This continually is said about me: that I was so career-driven and focused on myself; that I don’t want to be a mother, and how selfish that is…Even saying it gets me a little tight in my throat,’ she added.

I am a firm believer that it is absolutely nobody’s business but your own whether you have kids or not and I never ask. We have no idea what goes on behind closed doors – whether someone is trying and failing, or has simply concluded it’s not for them, a decision I totally respect (and I, myself, am a mother).

Well done, Jen. I really hope this is the last time you are ever asked.
